On Thursday, October 3, 2024, Alexander Innovation Zone in collaboration with the Digital Nomads Community in Thessaloniki hosted, at the AIZ premises, a workshop titled Marketing Fundamentals: Build Reputation, Monetize Growth – The Balance of Give & Take by Jacob Zangel, a renowned Growth Consultant.

The primary focus of the workshop was to offer participants a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between brand marketing and growth marketing—two essential pillars of modern marketing strategies.

Key Insights from the Workshop:

“The more value we give, the more we organically generate demand specifically for our products and services beyond the demand that already exists for similar offerings. The more we give through our brand marketing activities, the more we can capture using the growth marketing methodology. This approach involves running numerous experiments that allow us to monetize the demand in various ways. “

The G.R.O.W.S. Process:

Jacob introduced the G.R.O.W.S. process, a five-step framework designed to operationalize growth marketing.

G – Gather Ideas: Gather ideas that will help you solve your main problem.

R – Rank Ideas: Use the BRASS, PXL or PIE-framework to prioritize the best ideas.

O – Outline Experiments: Design your minimum viable experiments based on the best ideas. W – Work work work: Execute your experiment in a 2-3 weeks window.

S – Study the data: Analyze the soft and the hard data from your experiments. Learned from the failed experiments and double down on the successful ones.

The Bottom Line: When we focus on giving through our brand marketing activities, we essentially invest in our brand’s long-term growth and success. In the meantime, we use the growth marketing methodology to achieve or monthly, quarterly and yearly revenue goals. The more we use this process, the stronger our brand and the greater the financial returns.

“It’s all about the balance of give and take at the end, just like many other things in life”

The event offered an engaging environment that fostered interaction between participants and the speaker, contributing to a highly successful and informative session.
